If I don't move the rectangle first, the rotation works fine. But after moving the rectangle, then rotating it crashes. This does not seem to happen for any of the other DrawMode types... just the rectangle. <br />
<br />
Is this a known bug? Any workarounds?<br />

I am running version 2.4 of the WPF API on .NET 4.<br />
<br />
Thanks a lot for any info!</div>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div>Hi, I am working on a university project that involves finding the most vegetated cycle route through Christchurch city. It very similar to the Cycle Vancouver project. I haven't found a good vegetation layer to use in arcMap and was wondering if there was a way to create one from an infrared aerial photo using a NDVI and using it in arcGIS. If there is someone who has done this before or can offer advice that would be great.<br />

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div>Hi,<br />
<br />
Another thread did mention my problem about 12 months ago but there was no answer so here we go again.<br />
<br />
I am using the latest May 2012 version of Hec GeoRAS for ArcGis 9.3.1 from the esri ftp server. Whenever I try to export to an sdf file using the &quot;classic&quot; method I get an xml file but no sdf file. As far as i know the xml file is useless to try and get my data into HECRAS, I can find no converter to go to xml to sdf only the other way around. I have reloaded framework and GeoRAS many times, restarted PC, cleared temp directories but nothing seems to work. Any assistance greatly appreciated.<br />
<br />
Regards<br />

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div>I need to be able to draw a circle at a point that represents X miles, but it seems when I add a symbol it resizes etc when I zoom, I did not see any built in method to create a circle, although the drawtool seems to have a circle tool and when I use that to draw a circle with the mouse it works the way I would like to see a circle, but that tool does not seem to have any code based way to interact with it, so I cannot tell draw tool to start a a point and draw a circle x large.<br />
<br />
Is there an easy way to basically call a method that says draw a circle with a center point of x,y and X miles in diameter?<br />
<br />
I saw a couple examples I really hoped would work but they did not help much.</div>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div>As we explore ArcGIS Online to push a few very basic maps out to our public, I've been asked by every non-GIS reviewer (i.e. our public information officer) where the help info can be found. Of course I see there is a help dropdown in the page, but that leads me to help info that seems more geared towards someone making a new map or editing a map (a lot of info to sort through). Is there a simple help section for the non-technical end user somewhere? I'd like to be able to point my 70 year old mother at the map and have her be able to figure out how to navigate without assistance. For example:<br />
- without exploring on my own, how would I know to Shift-drag a box to zoom in?<br />
- How do I know to click the 'show map legend' button to see what the symbols mean?<br />
- How do I know the 'show contents of map' button will let me see and turn on/off layers?<br />
- how do I know clicking on a feature triggers an identify function?<br />
<br />
As a long time GISer, I'm able to figure this out by clicking buttons. However, a lot of our constituents are older and often afraid to just click around and explore. Seems like it would be ideal to have some type of quick reference page available to get people started. Apologies if I'm just missing it and it's already there...<br />
Thanks, Gavin</div>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div>Hi All<br />
<br />
I have found an issue with the Javascript RIA Viewer when run against non-IE browsers (Safari 5.1.7). I don't think it is an ESRI thing because the same web viewer works fine with Internet Explorer 8 and Internet Explorer 9.<br />
<br />
I have managed to narrow the issue down to CORS (Cross Origin Resource Sharing), which is supported by ESRI.<br />
<a href="http://blogs.esri.com/esri/arcgis/2011/09/23/version-2-5-of-the-arcgis-api-for-javascript-released-today/" target="_blank">http://blogs.esri.com/esri/arcgis/20...eleased-today/</a><br />
<br />
The workaround for flex and Silverlight RIA's has been to ensure crossdomain.xml and clientaccesspolicy.xml exists in the www root of the server. This implementation does not work for the javascript viewer. <br />
<br />
Tested Platforms<br />
I have been testing on Windows Safari, a Mini Mac and an IPAD.<br />
<br />
The Javascript Viewer handles the security with Internet explorer on the same windows machine. <br />
<br />
Error Messaging returns the following.<br />
<br />
Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 405 (Method Not Allowed)<br />
<br />
XMLHttpRequest cannot load <a href="http://vm-svr155/HBRC.EV.RESTServices/Config/Download/HBRC" target="_blank">http://vm-svr155/HBRC.EV.RESTService.../Download/HBRC</a>. Origin <a href="http://localhost" target="_blank">http://localhost</a> is not allowed by Access-Control-Allow-Origin.<br />
<br />
Further debugging from Fiddler show<br />
<br />
This request did not send any cookie data.<br />
<br />
I have set up my web.config to include the client access policies and the requests to include Access-Control-Allow-Origin to be “*”. <br />
<br />
Apple devices are becoming popular field devices and should really need to be supported. <br />
<br />
You’ll see the html request is formed differently between the internet explorer and non-IE version. <br />
<br />
Internet Explorer 9 – All Good<br />
Safari 5.17 – Fails with Windows, Mini Mac and iPad<br />
<br />
(Attached are the request logs from Fiddler)<br />

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div>So as is probably a given with many multi-user environments we use a Source Safe System, Perforce specifically.<br />
<br />
How do I have Python scripts that are in a perforce depot open and be editable in the cityengine scriptEditor without having to copy them into the workspace each time?<br />
This is quite a large feature for studios working with many devs that may focus on smaller components of work.<br />
<br />
I'd like to see that should I be providing a sys.path.append(mySourceSafe) in my startups (scripting.py) that I am able to see those appended files in the scripts directory. So that I can edit them and take advantage of the Python Editor with completion.<br />
<br />
Currently there seems to be no method of doing this can you correct me?</div>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div>I have looked around and have not found any solution to this problem.<br />
I am writing a GP tool that will allow the user to define a point by clicking on a point within a map service. The user has the ability to pick which feature set they would like to run the tool against. This tool works in under 10 seconds for every data layer that is in the map service other than the Common Land Unit layer. This layer is in SDE, has a spatial index, and has 36 million features (rows).<br />
<br />
So in arcmap, I can simply use the selection tool &gt; click on a polygon &gt; right click &gt; Selection\Create Layer from selected features and then export this polygon to a new featureclass. I can do it in about 20 seconds depending on how fast i can click :p<br />
<br />
Using python however this process took 33 minutes to run using the code attached below. It looks like when I use MakeFeatureLayer_management it creates a copy in memory of the 36 million features. Then when I do the spatial selection it finds the one record its looking for. Using print statements, this part of the code does not appear to take very long. It appears that the part taking a long time is CopyFeatures_management. <br />
<br />
To me it looks like it is using a search cursor to go through the 33million records to find the one that is selected and then exporting it to the scratch shapefile. This makes no sense to me. If the script can make a feature layer and do the selection in seconds then why does it take 30 minutes to export a single record? Are there any environment settings that I need to use? Is there a way to just use the features of this featureLayer that are in the current extent of the map service? Is there a better approach than the code below? Is there something that our SDE Manager should do to the data to make it faster to query on location?<br />
<br />
I am thinking if I can do it manually in arcmap in a few seconds then there is something that is completely wrong with my script (or perhaps arcpy).<br />
<br />
Any help or feedback would be greatly appreciated!!!<br />
<br />
<br />

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div>I created an ArcGIS Online map that has a link in the title of the popup. The address is concatenated from adding a year and incident number into a web address. This works fine in the ArcGIS.com map viewer, but not in the ArcGIS apps for iOS or Android (it displays the code instead of the link). Does anyone know if this is a limitation of the mobile apps or is there another way I should be going about this? Unfortunately, adding another field with the whole URL is not an option for us at the moment.<br />
<br />
Here's the map I'm referring to: <a href="http://www.arcgis.com/home/item.html?id=79e30ca4d5ba454c850e0e7670d21901" target="_blank">http://www.arcgis.com/home/item.html...0e0e7670d21901</a><br />
Here's the code I'm using the popup title (field names are abbreviated for clarity): <b>Fire Name: {firename}&lt;br&gt;Link: &lt;a href=&quot;http://svc.mt.gov/dnrc/firereports/f1000.aspx?fyear={fyear}&amp;fnum={fnumber}&quot; target=&quot;_blank&quot;&gt; Click here to open DNRC Fire Report&lt;/a&gt;</b></div>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div>Hello all,<br />
<br />
I am using ArcGIS Diagrammer version 10 to develop new schema for our utility databases. Our utility people have requested that all feature classes have a maximum of three decimal places due to the limits of their GPS equipment. Therefore I am trying to set the default XY Tolerance using Diagrammer to 0.001 feet. From searching the forums it appears that the &quot;XYSCale&quot; attribute in the Feature Class / Spatial Reference collection of attributes in Diagrammer controls this setting. However, using the existing tolerance for the data it appears as a value of 0.0003125 in the ArcCatalog / Feature Dataset Properties / Resolution dialog; while in Diagrammer's XYSCale attribute it appears as 3199.9999999999914.<br />
<br />
A couple of questions:<br />
<br />
1. Is this in fact the correct place to set the XY resolution using Diagrammer?<br />
2. If so, then what is the relationship between the differences in these two numbers? For example, if I wanted to set a tolerance of 0.001 feet how would I compute the correct value to enter into the Diagrammer attribute?</div>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div>I have an IR image (IR band 1, red band 2) as a GRID file. I need to create a polygon layer of the irrigated lawn areas from this image. Having only a basic knowledge of raster processing, I have been using <a href="http://help.arcgis.com/en/communitybasemap/10.0/help/index.html#//010100000038000000.htm" target="_blank">this &quot;how to&quot; page</a> (click link) to try and do it. I used the Image Analysis tools in ArcMap 10 to create an NDVI from the image, and then exported that (right-click NDVI layer, select Data &gt; Export Data) to an IMAGINE image file, per the instructions. That creates the .img file I need (after three hours of processing), but places the raster about 500 miles to the south west of the file it's exported from and covering a smaller area than the original. It says it's the same projection as the original and the NDVI. I tried defining the projection again and also verified the data frame's projection, as well as re-exporting the NDVI raster several times. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. <br />
<br />
I'd like to know if anyone has any suggestions on what to do to get my rasters to line up so I can continue with the tutorial specified above. <br />
<br />
I'd also like to know if anyone has a better approach to gleaning the lawn areas from my IR image and creating a polygon layer, rather than that tutorial I found.<br />
<br />
Thank you for any assistance you can provide. I attached screenshots of my IR, exported map layer and projection info.<br />

I have created domains for the empty table and all is working well, but there is one part I cannot seem to get.<br />
<br />
I want to bring across some values in the tombstone table and &quot;auto-populate&quot; them to the new record in the appropriate field.<br />
<br />
The deployment comes from a pgdb where the domains and relationships are already setup so when running the get data for arcpad, there doesnt seem to be a lot of extra effort.<br />

Not sure if this can be accomplished in the pgdb or if needs to be programatically done in ArcPAD.</div>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div>I am developing a web application where users can determine if there is an aerial photo collection for their area of interest. So far I have been able to code for the selection of a polygon layer containing all of the aerial collections with flight lines. That selection is returning the results in a dojo datagrid, and the user can launch a pdf of a scanned map with flight lines from a formatted field. My next task is to add a raster of the scanned map from an Image Service. I'm stumped. What I really would like to do is format a field in the data grid with a radio button that would turn the raster on and off, but as of now I can't even add a stand-alone raster from my image service.<br />
<br />
So, my questions are - Is this possible using the JavaScript API? Can I request a single raster from my mosaic image service or do I need to build a more complex query? There is a name field in my polygon layer that matches the raster name so I could build a request from that. I think I can get the radio button to work if I could just figure out how to add the raster.<br />
<br />
I'm running Server 10.0.</div>
