Default Can you move a label?

I have a project that consist of utility poles. along with the many poles I have, each pole has it's own number (my label) In areas where poles are close, the labels overlap. I was able to fix most of these issues by having my text rotated at 60 deg. There are still a few here and there that overlap. I was hoping you would know if these labels can be treated like objects and can be moved one at a time. . .I’m thinking not, but it’s worth the little effort of this post.
    thanks in advanced.

the simple way to do this is to convert labels to annotation. That way you can move them, but they are no longer labels that can be changed with the label manager; they become like inserted text. My personal preference is tostore the annotation in the map though.
