Buffer INSIDE Polygon Features

In ArcView 3.x the Buffer tool allowed the user to buffer both inside, outside, as well as either option. In ArcGIS, however, the Buffer tool only allows either outside or full buffering. Does anyone know of a way to buffer the inside of a polygon feature (other than firing up ArcView 3.2!)?

"When buffering polygon features, negative buffer distances can be used to create buffers inside the polygon features. Using a negative buffer distance will reduce the polygons' boundaries by the distance specified."
