    Default ArcMap : Create/Edit Circles

    Hi,

I know that I can create circles using the Advanced Editing Toolbar, but I have a few questions:

    1. When I try to specify units for my radius e.g. "100 m", ArcMap won't add the feature, no error shown, the feature just doesn't appear. It only draws if I don't specify the units and therefore allow it to draw in map units. (you're supposed to be able to override this)

    2. How can I edit (re-specify) the radius on an existing feature?

    3. How can I move the feature to be centered at a known X,Y? (I seem to be able to move the 'vertices' but that just skews the size of the circle)

    Any thoughts appreciated :-)

If you need the circle(s) to have it's center at a specific x/y maybe you could create a point shapefile placing all your centers at the right location and then using the buffer tool to create circles with specified radius...
    Just a suggestion.

Thanks Rachel, that's a good idea - I'll look into it.
