Question How do you open a layer package?

I'm using ArcGIS Desktop 10. I saved a layer package from one map on my hard drive. I want to use most of the layers in another map in ArcMap, but I can't figure out how to open it. Add data doesn't show the file. Does the layer package have to be uploaded to ArcGIS.com to be used in Desktop? I've searched through the help, and I can see how to save the package, but I haven't found how to load and use the layer package.

You can drag and drop the layer package (from ArcCatalog, the Catalog Window, or even Windows Explorer) into ArcMap.

    I hope this helps.

    Hi

Just double-click or open the file from Windows Explorer, the file handler will add it to an ArcMap session (or start one for you).
