Administrative Connection to ArcGIS Server

I can click my arcgis server and see my services but if I try to publish a new .mxd as a service I get the following error "Before Publishing to an ArcGIS Server, you must first create an administrative connection within ArcCatalog's GIS servers Folder". Not sure what to try if I can see my server already and can connect to it. Any suggestions?

Sounds like you've got an internet or local 'use' connection. If you're on the same network as the GIS Server, you can go to 'add arcgis server' and create an admin connection. Specify both a URL and a machine name. You need to be a member of the AGSADMINS group in order to create an admin connection. Admin connections are created over DCOM, so if you're not on the same network as the GIS Server, it's unlikely that the connection can be made.
