Default Tracking server demo, error #2048

I am just beginning to try out the tracking client for flex and have been following some samples online. These samples do not seem to run. They throw

"Error #2048:Security sandbox violation: http://help.arcgis.com/en/trackingse...tionsToMap.swf cannot load data from ec2-184-73-182-82.compute-1.amazonaws.com:4503"

which I believe is a cross domain security error. Does anyone know a way around this? I am new to this but I believe it is because the tracking server is on a different port.

I do not have my own server running yet (working on it) but I would like to experiment with the code. Please let me know if you have a solution.

    Thanks!

    Hi Jonathan,
A few of us in the Tracking Server team tried this, but couldn't reproduce the problem as you described. I have a few questions to ask and hopefully your answers can help us come up with a solution.
    1) Did you run the sample Flex Application from a machine sitting behind a Firewall? If so, does the Firewall allow the outbound connection to TCP Port 843 and 4503?
    2) Did you run the sample Flex Application by clicking on the link or did you download it as .SWF file and run from your machine?
    3) Will you be able to test running the sample Flex Application from a less restrictive network, e.g. from your home network?

    Thanks,
    Morakot

I'm having the exact same problem. Whenever I try to connect to the sampletrackingserver1.arcgis.com I get the #2048 error, and fail to receive any services. When running the silverlight sample I get the "accessDenied" error. I would just like to connect to the server to receive some sample live-data that I can experiment with.

I've tried running the samples from a machine that is not behind a firewall, and where the right ports are open. I've also tried downloading the samples and running them locally.

    The samples I've tried include:

    http://help.arcgis.com/en/trackingse...les/index.html

    http://sampletrackingserver1.arcgis....Ecom&port=4503

Please, does anyone have any suggestions?

    Aslak

We apologize for the inconvenience, but the sample Tracking Server has been down for the past couple weeks. It has now been restored, and you should be able to connect to it using the information below. Please let us know if you still can't connect.

    Server: sampletrackingserver1.arcgis.com
    Port: 4503
    Username / Password not required

    Hello,

unfortunately the service still does not work. It still asks for username and password. I would appreciate if you could fix that issue because it would be nice to have a sample application for the tracking server viewer.

    With best regards

    Martin

I am working with the StarterApp in the the Silverlight Tracking Client API samples and am getting "AccessDenied" as well. The server looks to be up and running however seems like we cannot access it consequently we cannot see how the demo app works.

    Thanks

    Neeraj
