Server tomcat web app manager login

Hi,

I have installed with default settings of ArcGIS server 9.3.1 (without any service packs).


I was able to login with user id arcgismanager and pwd as arcgis.manager
http://machinename:8399/manager/html

I have changed the passwrod in the C:\Program Files\ArcGIS\java\manager\service\tomcat\managerappserver\conf folder
filename: tomcat-users.xml

<user username="arcgismanager" password="arcgis.manager123" roles="admin,manager"/>

I restarted the arcgis manager, soc, soc monitor. Again i tried with new password, i was not able to login, but able to login with old arcgis.manager pwd.

I tried logout the machine, still the same problem.

let me know, what mistake i am making here.. any idea

That instance of Tomcat that ships with ArcGIS Sever Java 9.3.1 doesn't have any way of restarting the Tomcat service, that I remember. Try rebooting the server if you can.

Then you should be able to access: http://servername:8399/manager/html
