Question Mobile Content Server user authentication?

    Hello all,
Is there any form of user authentication that can be configured with Mobile Content Server and used through the ArcGIS for iOS App? And, ideally, a mechanism of filtering webmaps or content folders according to user credentials? I am wondering if this can be achieved by playing around over iis...
If not, is this planned for a future release?
    Thanks,
    Giorgos

You can have your security of your MCS setup so there is authentication when you try and connect to your server but there is no direct mechanism to setup security in content server and we don't do any kind of filtration. You can set up a security thru IIS but we don't do any extra check in the App.

    Cheers

Thank you Russ! After so much time spent on research, it's good to know for sure that it's not possible.

So, I guess there are no plans for MCS authentication in the foreseeable future? The way I see it, it wouldn't be that hard to port the existing services security mechanism to the mobile content, but maybe I am wrong (& a bit off topic)...

    George,
I think what you want to do can be achieved with one caveat. The user would open the map from mobile Safari instead of opening the map from iOS. Mobile Safari can handle all those things you want to do.

Let me know if you have questions.
