Default Differentiate between DBMS & GIS

Can anybody provide answers to this questions.
We can consider Oracle as DBMS and ArcGIS as GIS software for building up an answer

    Hi,

Could you please publish the questions as plain text message in here so everyone could read it without using any 3rd party software?

Not sure why he wanted to ask it in this forum, but these are contents of Pankaj's .xlsx table...

    DBMS GIS
    Type of data
Amount of data to analyze and to maintain
    Type of analysis function
    Number of concurrent access
    Transaction control mechanism included
Access mechanism to protect data against non-authorized access
Embedded mechanism to protect against system failure
Occurrences (variety and type of occurrences) of distributed system Architectures
Embedded standards (What type of standards?)
Typical value of system within an enterprise (enterprise critical? Nice to have a system?)
    Type of user interfaces

Stuart, thank you. I think he thought that Understanding GIS Workbook is a forum where one can ask questions that help build understanding GIS concepts.

Pankaj, this forum is dedicated to the book released by Esri Press: http://esripress.esri.com/display/in...201&moduleID=0
The questions you asked can be posted in other appropriate forums (for instance, http://forums.arcgis.com/forums/32-G...ase-amp-ArcSDE).

However, you can also refer to the Web Help to find relevant information, because it is a good place to get started.

    ArcGIS Desktop Help: http://help.arcgis.com/en/arcgisdesk...elp/index.html
    Geodatabases in Oracle: http://help.arcgis.com/en/arcgisdesk...00000q5000000/
