ASCII to Raster tool/img header information

We're using a python script to convert ASCII files to img format using the ASCII to Raster tool. The last modified date in the img header displays as 'Wed Dec 31 19:00:00 1969'. Is there a way to have this date show the correct date? I can't find a way to set this as an option, and we can't modify the date in ERDAS.

As an update, we've testing using copy raster with the same result.

We also tried both the ASCII to Raster and Copy Raster in 9.3.1, and the headers are fine. Is this a result of using GDAL, or another issue in 10?

I'm hoping we can find a way to make this work in 10, otherwise I'll need to re-write the scripts to work in 9.3.1.
